Alberto García-Alix

I met some artists in my life but this is a strong one. His name is Alberto García Alix. He's a spanish photographer, also a soul rocker, a poet, a kid... The first time we met was in 1997, I was a teenager. We were in a house party in Spain and he was my brother's friend. (My brother Teo died in 1995). We haven't met before my brother's death but Teo told me that he was a great guy. So he was there, standing next to met and we didn't say a word. Just "hello". And we were watching the people having fun, but we knew we had a good feeling about each other. So we became friends. He has a strong energy. When he is working, he's like a tiger, the time doesn't exist, when he's shooting, everything around is not important, he's creating a piece of art. Sometimes when I go to Madrid, we meet and we dance tango. This is his work. Enjoy.

Sonia Sieff

Let me introduce you to Sonia Sieff. We met when we were 14. We were not best friends... I remember one day, we were walking in the street, suddenly without saying a word, I left and she left. Then I met her two years later. I was doing music and she wanted to be a photographer. She asked me to be her first model with my cat. Today she's working a lot, she's my best friend and she's very good. Now when we walk in the street, we say goodbye before leaving. Her work:

The Hellboys years

In 2006, the Rock and Roll in Paris was screaming, all the young people were listening to garage-sixties bands, their style was a mix of the 50's and the 60's, and at this time I had a band "The Hellboys" The singer, Nikola, died in 2008, he had a heroin overdose. When he died, I felt it was the end of rock and roll. He used to say he wanted to die young...
I found this video today. As you can see, I was there but not completely there. I felt something was ending. I had Adanowsky's project in my mind and I wanted to say other things.
I was in this band for 8 years... I had a lot of fun, I learned a lot from it. I loved this guy, Nikola Acin. He was clever, so clever. He was a big fan of Elvis Presley and we wanted to create a church in France with a Jesus-Elvis statue. This year (2006) I did my first solo album and I had to do a choice. The Hellboys or Adanowsky? I confess sometimes I miss this band. I wish I could go to the past and play this gig again.

An afternoon with Ana and Devendra Banhart

Devendra was in Paris and he called me because Ana and him were starving. So the meeting was in Palais Royal. We went to 3 restaurants before finding the perfect one (who wasn't so perfect). We had a long conversation. I remember Devendra praying before eating, I thought he was crazy but Ana told me he was always praying before eating or drinking water. After the restaurant, we went for a walk and I took this picture in the street. They are beautiful in this image, we can feel their love and this peaceful day we were having.

Leon Larregui

I produced this album. His name is Leon Larregui. He asked me in Mexico to work on this project. So we went to Paris to work with my team. It was two month of recording and mixing and now it's a golden album.
It sounds like vintage-lennon-lou reed.
Leon was the lead singer of this hudge rock band in Mexico (Zoe), so he wanted to do a solo album. It was a dream he had but he wanted to do only 6 tracks, so I insisted to do an entire album because I felt he had to do it. So here it is. It's beautiful and it's called Solstis

My Father, Alejandro Jodorowsky, did a new movie. And it's going to be in Cannes this year. 22 years after his last movie. Jodorowsky's back!
The movie is called La Danza De La Realidad. I did the soundtrack....

Well, here I am. Writing for the first time on a Blog. I'm going to talk about my life, my past, my art, my feelings, my anger, my joy.
I'll try to be the most honest I can. So today, Sunday, April 14th, I will tell you where do I come from:

My name is Adan Jodorowsky. My parents are artists. My mother was an actress, my father a director, writer, actor...
Before I was born, my mother couldn't have anymore kids. She had a problem with her fallopian tubes. But they really wanted to have me, maybe because they wanted to save their marriage...
So they put two tarot cards on the wall, just above the bed, it was the stick and the cup and they commit the act. It was impossible for my mother to get pregnant but it was a miracle, I was alive in her body.
So months later, they asked to the tarot if I was going to be a girl or a boy, they took a card and it was the star. (The star card is a woman), so they thought it was going to be a girl (in fact it was saying that I was going to be a star! haha).

One day my mother went to a supermaket and heard a mother calling her daughter "ADA". She came back home and said to my father "Alejandro, I found a name! It's ADA!" Then my father said "it's crazy, today I found a name and it was ADA too!"

In the hospital, my father wanted to be the doctor, my brothers were there also, watching the birth.
When he took me in his hand and saw my balls, he said "it's not ADA, it's ADAN!"

And here I am.
